February 5, 2025, is National Girls and Women in Sports Day<\/strong>, and during the month of February, we are sharing the love for Snap! Raise<\/a> and highlighting women\u2019s and girl\u2019s sports teams! Chesnee High School Cheerleading <\/span>Coach <\/span>Al<\/span>l<\/span>ie Tyner <\/span>has been using Snap! Raise since 2022 to fundraise for h<\/span>er cheer <\/span>team. Check out how Snap! Raise has been able to make a difference for h<\/span>er <\/span>athletes<\/span>!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What are the benefits you’ve experienced using Snap! Raise\u02bcs online fundraising platform?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A: We started using Snap<\/span>! Raise<\/span> during <\/span>C<\/span>ovid<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>It was a way to have family involved in our fundraisers <\/span>even <\/span>if they <\/span>couldn’t<\/span> make <\/span>it to <\/span>our comps!<\/span><\/span><\/strong> It has helped us <\/span>purchase<\/span> items for our program so that <\/span>parents <\/span>d<\/span>o<\/span>n’t<\/span> have to pay more <\/span>than what<\/span> we already ask of them!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What has your group been able to do with the money raised during your Snap! Raise fundraiser? How has it made a difference for your athletes?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A: Since we started <\/strong><\/span>using Snap! Raise, <\/span>we have been able to <\/span>purchase<\/span> new comp uniforms, new poms, and new football uniforms for our program! <\/span><\/strong><\/span>They had to work for things they wanted <\/span>that were <\/span>extra <\/span>–<\/span> and<\/span> what is not to love about new uniforms!<\/span>!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What recommendations or tips would you have for a fellow coach or group leader when running a Snap! Raise fundraiser?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A: <\/span>Sending my kids reminders and deadlines for <\/span>Snap!<\/span> really made a difference! They were rewarded <\/span>for <\/span>sending <\/span>extra texts or just completing what they were assigned to do. <\/span><\/span>Helping <\/span>remind<\/span>\u00a0the kids and <\/span>updating them<\/span> on their progress pushed them to get more.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Q: <\/span>What\u2019s<\/span> one thing you think other people should know about Snap! Raise?\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

A: <\/span><\/span>Snap<\/span>! <\/span>Raise<\/span> is easy! We are not selling <\/span>anything<\/span>,<\/span> and people love to help support<\/span> us,<\/span> especially if they <\/span>can’t<\/span> support in person.<\/span><\/span><\/strong> They feel <\/span>like <\/span>a<\/span> part of our program and help us achieve goals!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What does National Girls & Women in Sports Day mean to your team, and how do you see your fundraising efforts supporting that vision?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A: <\/span>National Girls & Women in Sports Day means we are <\/span>valid<\/span> and our sport is important. <\/span><\/span>Our fundraising efforts go along with our vision of <\/span>\u201c<\/span>you <\/span>work hard for what you want<\/span>\u201d<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>Whether<\/span> that is a first<\/span>–<\/span>place trophy, making it to State<\/span>,<\/span> or winning <\/span>S<\/span>tate<\/span>,<\/span> if we want <\/span>it<\/span>,<\/span> we work hard.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What challenges do women\u2019s and girls\u2019 teams typically face in securing resources, and how did this fundraiser help overcome those obstacles?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A: <\/span>In our <\/span>s<\/span>port<\/span>,<\/span> uniforms are a statement<\/span> and<\/span> part of our story<\/span>,<\/span> as well as expensive<\/span> pieces. We <\/span>don’t<\/span> have the resources to just get that kind of money off the bat. We <\/span>have to<\/span> fundraise if we want to spend<\/span> on<\/span> this <\/span>big of a<\/span> purchase.<\/span> <\/span>Our fundraising made it easy so that we could control w<\/span>hether <\/span>we got the gear or not<\/span> – i<\/span>t was up to us to earn it.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Q: As you celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day, what does it feel like to know your fundraising success is part of a bigger movement for equity and opportunity?<\/em><\/p>\n

A: <\/span>As we celebrate, I know my team works hard for what they want! It is an amazing feeling to be rewarded for not giving up and working hard for everything that you get. <\/span><\/span>These successes help these girls believe in themselves <\/span>and<\/span> each <\/span>other,<\/span> showing them that they are capable of being successful at whatever they put their mind<\/span>s<\/span> to.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>Snap<\/span>! Raise<\/span> has helped us in so many ways<\/span>.<\/span> W<\/span>e are glad it is part of our <\/span>program<\/span>,<\/span> and we will continue to use it throughout our upcoming seasons.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Coach Allie Tyner\u2019s cheer teams have raised more than $22,000 since 2022, and we are looking forward to seeing what Coach Tyner and the Chesnee Cheerleading team can do in the 2025 season!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
